What inspired this body of work? Have you been doing this particular style for a while?

I’ve been creating up-cycled jewelry for about two years now. My jewelry is a combination of my grandmother and myself. My grandma has always been a huge inspiration in my life, she overcame many hardships, but always managed to have an upbeat spirit. She was also an artist, who would create jewelry and clothing to send to her homeland, Hungary. When she passed I was left with all her creative matter. Along with using what she left to me, I also use trim from my hand-dyed textiles. This adds a diverse style to my jewelry.

What wisdom or words would you give your little self if you could go back in time?

When times are rough, don’t let it drowned you. Things always get better, so push through it by creating. Something I’ve learned in the last year, and plan to live by.

Any music albums that you just can’t get away from right now that you don’t/do want your followers to know about.”?

I’ve always had a really passion for music. When I was a teenager and really struggling through life, I could always count on music. Lately I’ve been working on expanding my knowledge of classic rock artists I love. Instead of just listening to certain songs, I’m diving into full albums. Pink Floyd The Wall has been a real go to. Also, Atmosphere When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold. Always another go to. I enjoy lyrical music that speaks to my soul.

If someone gave you 1 week to live what would you do?

First, be honest. I often am not open about my feelings with those around me. I’d like to burn my emotional barrier, and verbally express what I don’t know how to. Having a week to live I wouldn’t over think the outcome about opening up to family, friends, and individuals I have/have had crushes on but feared rejection. And on a cliche side, travel. See parts of nature I’ve never seen.

Who is your female crush or hero?

Janis Joplin, hands down! In a time where the majority of rockstars were men, she let her passion shine. I feel she helped women believe in themselves. I find it really inspirational because at times it can be hard to believe in ones self. During her time here, I think she showed how powerful woman are. & her voices gives me chills!

Q: What inspired this body of work? Q: Have you been doing this particular style for a while?    A: My style changes and evolves but some years ago i realized that i much preferred my characters without their noses and mouths. To me, the absence of other features brings more attention to the emotion in the eyes. Q:  What wisdom or words would you give your little self if you could go back in time? A: Do more. Get out there, and focus.  believe in yourself. don’t get caught up in the 9-5. i think we have a tendency to get wrapped up and lose time. i could have got so much more accomplished, if i had the time and believed in myself more when i was younger. Q: Any music albums that you just can’t get away from right now that you don’t/do want your followers to know about.”? A: My tastes in music are all over the place, but i really enjoy john frusciante ’s solo albums. besides that i get down regularly to glass animals , flume, rasputina , jill scott , and bot  and genghis clan, just to mention a few. i also really like super ratchet rap and hip hop like huey’s pop, lock and drop it 😂 Q: If someone gave you 1 week to live what would you do?    A: I’d spend all my money frivolously, anything and everything. grab my best friends and get somewhere warm and go wild. Q: Who is your female crush or hero? A: Tracy Lords, all time babe crush! the original “resting bitch face”. she’s  serious hotness, and one tough chick.

Q: What inspired this body of work? Have you been doing this particular style for a while?

I love painting my from my experience. As someone said last night, they are like little windows into my travels. It was really insightful. I also think someone with the guts to get out in public and play their music should be admired. It’s gotta be tough but they always seem to be enjoying themselves. Since there seems to be Busking in every city, the two just kind of align.

Q: What wisdom or words would you give your little self if you could go back in time?

I probably would tell myself to make sure I kept painting, don’t let life’s daily chaos distract you.

Q: Any music albums that you just can’t get away from right now that you don’t/do want your followers to know about.”?

Hahahah - all of them! I actually rely on Apple

Music to dictate my music while I work and then my kids have been addicted to the Hamilton soundtrack for the last 2.5 years. I actually love it also and we just saw the musical  last week.

Q: If someone gave you 1 week to live what would you do?

Make sure my kids knew how important they are to me, golf, and do as many 1 hour paint studies as possible.

Q: Who is your female crush or hero?

My wife (both crush and hero)! She works so hard and is a great role model for my kids...but if you have to have a pure celebrity crush I think I would go with Jessica Alba. I am impressed with how she built a company beyond her acting (funny thing is I am not sure I could name a movie or tv show she was in). I like successful people who work hard:)

A little Q & A

Q: how did you know you wanted to pursue your art career?

A: I didn't, I just have a need to create and some people seem to like the stuff that comes out of my mind and for that I am grateful.

Q: who inspires you now in the current?

A:Everyone, everything is an inspiration it's just a matter of how you look at the world,I can pass a person place or thing  on a regular basis and think nothing of it then one day something happens and BAM! I'm inspired and ideas start flowing.

Q: Is there a single or album that you think everyone should be listening to?  Why?

Sunshine by Mos Def is a grate song to start the day, currently I'm on a twenty one pilots kick, love the range and depth of the lyrics.

Q: Do you have any hero’s? If so Who?

A: I don't really have heroes, I do have major Respect for the people in my life that fail but never give up, they keep going no matter what even when it gets hard they keep going.

Q: What would you tell your little self if you could tell them anything about life now?

A: Nothing really, I'd let him do his thing if I'd tell him anything then this version of me would not be the same, and today...just for today I'm ok with being me.

Q: how did you know you wanted to pursue your art career?

A: I knew I wanted to pursue an art career while I was in high school. I really thought I would leave my childhood passion behind and find something new that can possibly be a career choice for me. But after looking at all the career paths I can take  nothing has caught my interest as much as being an illustrator does.

Q: who inspires you now in the current?

A: My current inspiration is all the lovely ladies who do boudoir, burlesque, and ect. Their outfits, style, and personalities really inspire my creativity.

Q: Is there a single or album that you think everyone should be listening to?  Why?

A: Drab Majesty completely careless. This album/artist is really relaxing to me. I love the lyrics and music genre.

Q: What would you tell your little self if you could tell them anything about life now?

A: I would tell my little self to do what you love doing. Don’t let anyone put you down and always keep your head up high.
